Plane fire blamed on electrical fault Print E-mail

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau says an electrical fault was the most likely cause of a fire that forced a plane to make an emergency landing at Tamworth Airport overnight.

The plane was on a flight training exercise from Bankstown to Tamworth when the crew noticed smoke in the cockpit.

The crew managed to extinguish the fire by the time the plane landed.

A full investigation will be carried out over the next few days.
